Communist propaganda is radically homoerotic. It often portrays men embracing or kissing. It’s a queer miracle that some of these works made it through censorship. Today, the Communist term “Comrade” has even been co-opted by the queer community in China. This collection is a queer Chinese woman's reimagining of Cold War Era propaganda through an intersectional lens.

The Oleander in all it's beauty is poisonous to humans, much like the beauty standards placed on Womxn of color.
We Indigenous Native Womxn are beautiful.
Despite the American/European definition and standard of beauty, we live and breathe our own.
Indigenous beauty has no standard.
Your Brown skin, black hair and almond eyes the color of the darkest mahogany are beautiful.
My sister, my cousin, you are beautiful.
We are beautiful.

The code was created by us, a current of our innovation. Yet being caught up in the wave of technology doesn't mean it truly reflects our humanity. That which emanates from us does not always see us.

Smile
Kior
Is there something else beneath your smile?
Sometimes, your smile deceives even you.
This smile that keeps being fabricated would strangle you a little by little.
You might be burning up with your inner fire already, even without noticing, while the smile is choking you.
This piece is for everyone who is struggling to be seen as okay all the time and is trapped in the mold by their roles or given identities.
[ALT] Amaurosis : Destitute of Vision
June K
This is Alternative wireframe version of a digital virtual installation piece as an invitation to my upcoming physical solo show, happening at 825 gallery in Los Angeles 2021, and 2022.
The red color is from the Asian belief of redthread destiny, “An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet. It may tangle, but will never break." Amaurosis installation is an extension of my previous redthread series, which is building an invisible human network by fabricating red thread in a multi-layered structure.
This new piece, Amaurosis is focused on specifically depicting our current transitional period of global pandemic situation, dark times like our vision of the future are unseen as if we have blinded eyes.
I built multiple transparent layers from a clear vinyl sheet. It represents invisible stages of quarantine periods. The circles in each layer are brail numbers. I painted the hint of red gradation on the edge, that says the transition is coming and unavoidable.
Life is a window of vulnerability
Hemilylan
"Life is a window of vulnerability" is about my own experience as a third culture kid. The longing for acceptance and to belong, the need for a sense of attachment for our identities, and the decades of messy process coming to terms with one’s own amorphous + multiple identities.
Acknowledging the fragility and beauty of these identities that live within one physical body, but also loving that, while these personas often get into conflict with each other, they can co-exist and make peace.
Blank
Eri Harigai
“Blank” is a monochrome digital sculpture based on her childhood and a symbol of acceptance towards her introversion and negative emotions.
Growing up with a mixed background and being exposed to different cultures, rediscovering her identity is a constant theme in her artwork.
“Blank” has been exhibited in Art Dubai and featured in Harper’s Bazaar and the Mayfair Times in 2021.

Zero gravity world-goddess Cloudy
Joydy@hui_art_
Zero gravity world의 구름의여신 Cloudy.
Cloudy, the cloud goddess of zero gravity world, directs the life of everything in the world by bringing down rain. Cloudy's zero-gravity magazine is cloud and rain. This is Claudie's message. " My moist world, even a small grass leaf is necessary and precious. I'll float here and rain on my life. "You should swim and dance"
