Delphine Diallo is a Brooklyn-based French and Senegalese visual artist and photographer.
Diallo graduated from the Académie Charpentier School of Visual Art in Paris in 1999 before working in the music industry for seven years as a special effects motion artist, video editor, and graphic designer. After moving to New York in 2008, Diallo was mentored by acclaimed photographer and artist Peter Beard with whom she collaborated with for the Pirelli calendar photo shoot in Botswana. Inspired by new environments on this trip, she decided to return to her father's home city of Saint-Louis in Senegal to begin her own work as a photographer.
Her practice heavily focuses on the spirituality and reverence of the Black female body. In her own words, “I want to bring a great new vision of Black female archetypes: the explorer, the queen, the goddess, the innocent, the sage, the mother, the caregiver, the ruler, the lover, the spiritual warrior, the magician, the everywoman, so many others. It is the birth of the divine feminine within me (and within all of us) that comes through our families and ancestors, an energy which was once oppressed."
Diallo has been featured in National Geographic, The New York Times, L’OREAL, Time Magazine, Esquire, The New Yorker, Nike, Time Inc, Gant, The Smithsonian Magazine, United Nations, and many others and has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions around the world. Superchief Gallery NFT was proud to present the sold out exhibition Revelations/Tryptic Collages at Scope Miami Beach 2021 and The Golden Age at Superchief Gallery LA during NFT|LA 2022.

I collected magazine, art books, vintage photos and i added my own photography, contact sheets to the work. A collage surrounded by edit words of wonder..paint brushes, seashells. Through my journey, collage is an access to my subconscious and free myself from the society construct. I experienced life with the awareness of inclusion and diversity. It Helps me to express the abundance of this new reality.
I'm bringing back the past to the surface through collages and integrating all of them in one video. Our spirit called upon us to journey inward, to uncover our buried past issues, our traumas, and regrets that continue to lie heavily upon our soul and our heart.
To begin, we align with the necessary conscious shift of this New Era, seeing all of our interconnectedness through time, history, culture and traditions. Used as catalysts to trigger our awakening process, allowing situations to come forward guided by the spiritual warrior female archetype. I visualized the self through the support of my African ancestors. I manifest my creative power!!
I had access to a private African art collection in New York city and i decided to bring back the past to the surface through the visualization of my African ancestors heritage. My body and the African spiritual objects are in connection to create the story of my self transformation. In my reality, i am my ancestors dreams. They are transmitting me their knowledge and messages. I received their power and spiritual messages. i am the past , the present and the future Bio Delphine Diallo is a Brooklyn-based French and Senegalese visual artist and photographer. Sought to challenge the norms of our society, Diallo immerses herself in the realm of anthropology, mythology, religion, science and martial arts to release her mind. Her work takes her to far remote areas, as she insists on spending intimate time with her subjects to better represent their most innate energy.
